James Ché (Jericho) James Ché Boston, MA The flier Jericho Ché was on for his first Detroit event said it all ... "Do NOT feed the aminal". Raised in a musical, multi-cultural/lingual environment, Jericho Ché has been rocking crowds in Central America and North America for years. Raised between Boston Massachusetts, Albany New York, Ann Arbor and Detroit Michigan, Hanover and Andover New Hampshire, Jericho has plays with samples of music gathered throughout a lifetime of travel, and he is infamous for leading the crowd along his emotionally fueled ride. Jericho does not rely on a single musical style or realm. In fact he challenges you to "pigeon-hole" his style/method/music. Taking all forms of music heard through his life, he dons an enormous criss-crossing of multiple sounds from all cultures of music ranging from 60's and 70's funk through, playful and bouncing deep Chicago-house, progressing through faster growling Detroit tech/house and ghetto-tek, ending in mind-scrambling DnB. This guy has literally died and come back from the grave to bring his unique flavor to the 313rd. Jericho died and was paddled back to life four times in August of 2008 due to Wilson's Disease, and is now a functioning member of Detroit's underground after going through a liver transplant. Gaining notoriety for himself with the self-produced set "Swallow 'Dis", J grabbed some traction in the Detroit & Pontiac nightclub circuit. Following this release, he really solidified a place in the scene by single handedly playing a six hour event for all but the first 45 minutes. He disappeared from music altogether in pursuit of his collegiate degrees only to re-appear some years later at house parties and side rooms at clubs in Ann Arbor and Detoit. Playing with a style all his own, he blends an all-music encompassing sound, proving to crowds that he is truly a jack of all trades.
