Hello, in this video or podcast I want to answer the question is affiliate marketing fun. The short answer to this question is yes, it is fun for me, however it can also suck very bad.
A big advantage to affiliate marketing is that you can do it around your current schedule. If you have a job or school you can do it in the evening time, morning, or at midnight, it's very flexible.
Another great thing about affiliate marketing is you can have more of a laptop lifestyle than many other business models.
This means that if you want to travel you can still make money. You can do a lot of it at a coffee shop or anywhere. Another benefit is the cost to entry can be very small.
I'm comparing this to a brick and mortar store or a college education. Another benefit is that if your in a niche you are interested in then it's going to be more fun. If you have 0 interest in your niche then it's going to suck of course. If I was in beauty products, I would not have fun.
If your stuck on choosing a niche and you want to make money online, I recommend the make money online niche.
There is a lot of money in it, and you are going to be learning how to make money and sharing what your learning and it's going to keep you interested.
Plus, depending on your business model with affiliate marketing it can be very passive. This means you can walk away and still make money. Now, it's not going to be 100% passive, but more passive than many other business models.
Those are a few of the positives to affiliate marketing of the top of my head, let's talk about some of the negatives.
The biggest negative I think is the confusion and noise. Especially if you are just starting out there are so many options.
There is dropshipping, Amazon's program, Clickbank, Jvzoo and just tons and tons of choices. Do I need a website, how about an autoresponder? How should I get traffic? There is a lot of confusion.
It can be paralysis analysis and it can be frustrating. What I recommend is focus on what is important and forget about everything else.
What is important? It is growing your list and what you do with that list. These are the 2 things that you need to have and will make you the money.
The good news is you can partner with someone who is very good at affiliate marketing and piggyback off their success.
This means you can use their list, their promos and still make very good money. Good money is keeping 100% of the money on the front end products and making $1,000, $2,000 to $4,000 on the deep sales.
I'm not trying to brag, just sharing with you what is possible. You can either partner with someone or learn how to build the list and what to do with it.
It's a good idea to get this part right because if you get it wrong your not going to make a lot of money. It's more fun when you make money.
The last part really should be traffic. The fun part about traffic is there are many ways to get it and you can choose what you like.
Do you like making videos, it can be a great way to get traffic. Do you like Pinterest, there is a way. Are you on Facebook a lot, you can do lots of damage with just a free Facebook account. If you are on these platforms already, why not make some money at the same time?
Do you like to be outdoors, well you can get traffic in the real world, pass out business cards, go to live events in your niche or create a bumper sticker.
There are an endless amount of ways to get traffic. To sum everything up.
Affiliate marketing is fun if you do it right, your making money and your in a niche your interested in. Plus, you can do it whenever you want, travel and still do it, and it's more passive. Just remember to keep it simple and get the foundation right.
Now, you know why I do affiliate marketing and I probably will do even if I'm still alive at 100 years of age.
