Kim Taylor Kim Taylor Berkeley, CA Originally from sunny South Florida, the emotionally dynamic music of Kim Taylor has appeared in numerous films and television series over the years including Smallville, The Unit, One Tree Hill, Ghost Whisperer, The L Word, Flashpoint, Cyberbully, Justified, Hawthorne, and Army Wives among others. She has toured extensively with Australian artist Kasey Chambers, Canadian songwriter Ron Sexsmith, Kentucky’s Ben Sollee, and Ohio’s Over the Rhine and has opened for numerous artists including Kris Kristofferson and Grace Potter. In 2013, Taylor co-starred in the Sundance and Berlinale selected Matt Porterfield film I Used To Be Darker which garnered much critical success: “ . . . a lyrical ballad that is intimate in scale but international in scope.” (The New Yorker). Taylor’s songs receive over a million monthly streams in China and in 2018 she performed at several major festivals around the mainland. Her most recent 2019 release and fifth full-length studio album, Songs of Instruction, is a 10 song collection of her signature intimate folksy narrative songwriting style. Her song “The Hard Way” was used in the 2019 Chinese drama thriller Sheep Without a Shepherd, one of the mainland’s highest grossing films.
