Yamuna Devi_"Adore Ye" and Mahamantra_April2005_Venables Valley, Canada by KirtanLondon published on 2016-01-01T16:16:01Z This track was recorded in the secluded and sacred setting of Radha Banebihari Mandir, an ashram in the mountainous Venables Valley. Yamuna Devi sings a few lines of an English prayer written by her spiritual master, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and then sings Mahamantra, accompanied by members of the Venables Valley (AKA Saranagati) community. Yamuna Devi was renowned in her lifetime as a bhakti practitioner of greatest depth, as well as accomplished chef, writer, artist and singer of devotional songs and kirtan. Her voice was lauded by George Harrison of The Beatles, who offered to record and produce a solo album for her. Though this never happened, he produced the Radha Krishna Temple Album, on which she sang lead - it reached the top 5 in charts across Europe in 1972. She passed away in December 2011.
