KW032 - Clark Davis - Article 13 E.P. by Knotweed Records and Decision Making Theory published on 2019-01-03T23:03:26Z Long time techno soldier Clark Davis hails from Hamburg, Germany, where he runs his parties and label District 66 with his friend Markus Schwarz. We all met back in March 2015 during a Wall Music party in Hamburg. That's almost 4 years ago... Since then, we regularly exchanged demos back and forth, waiting to find the perfect tracks that would fit our common vision of techno. That time is now: Clark Davis delivers a piece of wax that defines his view of electronic music, influenced by the American techno scene. Dig in! Artist: Clark Davis Title: Article 13 E.P. Kick-starting this underground EP is "Champagne Kush", where the Hamburg artist bounces a menacing bass against the backdrop of tough but cavernous kicks and dense hand claps. "C3H8NOHP" sees Holtz focus on a more reduced approach; tingling hi hats and repetitive stabs provide the basis for a minimal workout that is equal parts Levon Vincent and Robert Hood. Last but not least, the title track is more understated, with this veteran techno figure deploying garbled vocal samples over a stepping rhythm.
