Frustra landan brawley toronto 2014 - 2023 memorial park / new album out now bit.ly/memorialparklp Landan Brawley began experimenting with music production in 2009 in his hometown of Newmarket, Ontario at the age of 15. After relocating to the United Kingdom in 2013, he began DJing in the derelict warehouses of East London. Influenced and impacted by visits to various clubbing institutions, he returned to Toronto the following year and began to release free music online under his production moniker Frustra. He would later appear alongside reputable international acts such as Malaa and No Mana at local venues including CODA, The Hoxton and One Loft along with releasing a series of bass-heavy singles and EPs via Brooklyn, NY's OKNF Records imprint in 2016 and 2017. With DJ set appearances across North America alongside the likes of Massimiliano Pagliara, Justin Cudmore, Chrissy and The Carry Nation, 2019 saw Landan lacing together metallic funk and disco house under his given name while priming himself as one to watch with tastemakers and underground purveyors alike. He released his debut full-length Frustra album (‘Second Lives’) in November 2020 via Universal Music’s Spinnup following ‘fool for grooves’, his first self-released EP in four years. Following his debut LP and the return of residencies at local haunts old and new including the Black Eagle, Bassline Music Bar and Boogie, Landan released a series of disco-house singles via the Warsaw, Poland-based label HOUZ in 2021 and 2022 while priming his follow-up full-length: ‘Memorial Park’. Evoking harder and heavier sounds, the album was released independently this past summer via Landan's own imprint Frustrax. As of July 7, 2023, the Frustra alias has entered an extended hiatus for the foreseeable future as Landan sets his sights on his upcoming side-project... contact / booking: landanbrawley@gmail.com
