Liudas Lazauskas (aka Roe Deers) and Titas Motuzas are two friends and musicians from Vilnius, Lithuania. After releasing a cover at
Mange Moi, and also introducing their first original release Losses (which also came in music video form), these guys are finally doing
what was their initial plan - launching their own independent, Vilnius based label called “Good Skills”. For the first release, Good Skills is
presenting two different originals from BDHBTS and eight great remixes created by dear friends from all over the world - two American Berliners, two Belgian acts, a band from Russia, and brothers from Cologne, Tauragė and Tel Aviv.
First track of the EP - “Bad Habits” - has this story around itself, you’ve probably already heard before. It all started as a little jam in the studio, ended up being philosophy, the name and an interest a of newly formed band. Here you can hear the typical recipe of BDHBTS
music - little line of acid, pretty weird sounding vocals and solid, very solid bass line. Not a banger of a track, but it definitely wasn’t the
initial mission. Let me introduce you to my bad habits :)
Second original - “Uždaras vakaras" - shows the way BDHBTS likes to dance. Meeting under influence in the studio turned out to be a
night, when the anthem for Vilnius bouncers was born. Literal meaning of “Uždaras vakaras” is “Private evening”, which is a phrase very often used by local bouncers when not allowing somebody to enter the club. Little meaning lyrically, simple melodies, lots of drama and some electronic accordion - this track is just like your night out.
Remix for track “Bad Habits” made by Curses explains why Luca is known as a true master of disco darkness. American raised, Berlin
based and Lithuanian hearted Curses once again delivers a great selection of spooky sounds and incredible bass guitar cuts. Just the
right amount of dirty.
Moderna’s techno version of “Uždaras vakaras” wins the heaviest track of the release title. Darker than night, more mysterious than
Voldemort, hotter than your lover. This one goes straight to your peak time folder.
Good Skills is honoured to have DEEWEE’s finest - Asa Moto - on board for this all star game of a release. Boys from Gent shows the
prettier side of “Bad habits” - great remix for warm up set, sunset chill or autobahn ride.
Strapontin swings hard with his execution of “Uždaras vakaras”. Hypnotic piece for hard working dance floor community - never ending build up madness from Brussels. It’s like eating a waffle with very dark chocolate.
German poet Bryan Kessler is not only a true friend, but also a very creative one. He could not say no when BDHBTS asked to remix a
track, which he probably didn’t like, so instead he made them a cover. Sticky, a bit 80s sounding version of “Bad habits” with a lot to
offer.
Let’s talk weed. Alek Lee brings you a trippy percussion mix of “Uždaras vakaras” on a magic carpet straight from the deserts around Tel Aviv. If you haven’t him on stage live with bongos and/or tambourines - you should definitely do it.
Rising Lithuanian fellow Zakmina’s remix for “Uždaras vakaras” is already a hit on local dancefloors. Heavy bass riff and straightforward
groove is always a good idea.
Vodka version aka remix for “Bad Habits” from Russian fellas Wolfstream has already been played in their live sets. We saw it, we loved it and we are sure it works. Pure rock’n’roll vibes.
