London Myriad Ensemble London Myriad London Since its conception as a professional chamber group in 2004, the London Myriad Ensemble has performed regularly both in the UK and internationally and is one of the leading wind ensembles of their generation in the UK today. The ensemble performs a wide range of repertoire, including new music, as a flexible ensemble with a wind quartet as its core that expands to include piano and strings. Members share a passion for chamber music alongside a wealth of experience within the music profession. Individual members have worked with major ensembles and orchestras in the UK and internationally including the RPO, Hallé, Royal Opera House and BBC Symphony Orchestra. In the past, the ensemble has benefited from the support of Dartington International Summer School and the Musician's Benevolent Fund, performing as guest quintet at various courses and summer schools over the years. As previous first prizewinners of the International Israeli Music Competition, the London Myriad Ensemble performed at the Purcell Room in the Southbank Centre and live on BBC Radio 3's 'InTune' programme. The ensemble perform regularly in recital including at notable venues such as St. Martin-in-the-Fields, St. James's Piccadilly, the Fairfield Halls, the National Portrait Gallery, 11 Downing Street, and the residence of the British High Commissioner to the Seychelles. They also enjoy providing music for a variety of events. With a keen interest in new music and in expanding the repertoire in particular for woodwind chamber ensemble, the London Myriad have given several world premiere and UK premiere performances having also recently made a recording of Rob Keeley’s Studies for Wind Quartet and performed as resident ensemble with composers from "New Music Brighton," and "London Composers Forum." They have collaborated in performance with composers including Martin Butler and Paul Patterson and have had several new works written for them. The London Myriad Ensemble regularly works in education and outreach. The ensemble runs a popular course for pre-formed advanced wind ensembles at Benslow Music twice a year and also gives school outreach workshops. In their capacity as Concordia International Artists they have hosted, devised and led a number of large outreach workshops and performances at Wiltons Music Hall as part of their Young Audiences project in Tower Hamlets and beyond. In 2016, they ran a series of education workshops and concerts based around Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes for Roald Dahl's centenary year. Their debut CD, FOUR, consists of works written for wind quartet by Francaix, Bozza, Bridge and Rodney-Bennett is due to be released soon.
