"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." ---
Gandhi. My passions are high quality human services programming, strategic planning, budgeting, financial management, technology, grant making, fundraising, project management, performance measurement, data analytics and reporting.
I thrive in organizations that are committed to data-driven decision making. My management style is servant leadership and my desire is to work with people who share my passion for supporting meaningful change in the lives of people we serve.
My background includes working for Covenant House, CARE, JWB and the Southern Poverty Law Center. I've worked internationally in London and Guatemala. I was associate director at Jacob Riis (Queensbridge Houses). Most recently I've been the CFO and COO at JWB and SPLC respectively. I've supervised human services programming, finance, human resources, an administrative services organization, technology, security, facilities, administration, research and donor services.
I've been responsible for implementation of technology systems, budgets, audits, recruitment, annual plans, compensation studies, team building, training, strategic planning, building culture, performance review systems, program development & evaluation.
In addition to my day jobs, I volunteered as a programmer and board member for 13 years at WPKN in CT. This is where I found my love of jazz. I also worked as an adjunct professor teaching Leadership and Administrative Dynamics at Eckerd College.
My weekends are spent reading, programming at WPKN, a community radio stations at 89.5 FM and playing with my beloved dog Agnes. I have a deep love of theater, especially August Wilson. My favorite business authors include Sinek, Kotter and Lencioni. In the fiction category, I love Cormac McCarthy and on the non-fiction side, I've just finished the new book by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
