Ètude No.2 - Philipp Glass (Recomposed) by Luca Longobardi published on 2018-04-11T10:40:55Z Upon Philip Glass Etude No. 2 strings duet: luca longobardi formaly composed for 'Gustav Klimt', an immersive exhibition by Gianfranco Iannuzzi, Renato Gatto e Massimiliano Siccardi, produced by Culturespaces at Atelier de Lumières - Paris Genre Recomposed Comment by ted-2 First heard this peice when I went to see the cheesy yet magical Atelier Lumiere installation in Paris. Klimt, himself both cheesy and magical, is one of my all time favorite artists. And there's just nothing in the world like Philip Glass's exquisite minimalism. What a perfectly absurd contrast to set Klimt's elegant excess to. I played this for a pianist who likes to play Glass, and she pointed out that this composition was performed on an upright piano rather than a grand. The sharp icicle stabs made by the high notes indicate the shorter strings. Technically, they're not as rich as a grand's high notes, but this was a deliberate, perfect choice. Sometimes, imperfection is perfect. 2021-11-18T04:42:30Z Comment by User Brige30 Wow........ 2020-04-14T05:12:41Z Comment by Margy Waller Love. 2019-01-14T02:41:48Z Comment by Giulia Rizza bellissima la tua versione :) 2019-01-02T21:59:26Z Comment by barbouille79 it was so beautiful ! come un sogno meraviglioso ! :) grazie 2018-11-12T15:55:52Z Comment by John Meed Hi Luca - we went to the Klimt exhibition on Wednesday (a great exhibition) and particularly liked your arrangement of the Glass étude. So we were delighted to be able to lsten to it again here. Cogratulatons - the strings really add something to what is already a special piece of music. 2018-08-25T08:50:31Z Comment by Dolcevitalinda This is my favorite <3 :) I went to Paris to see the Gustav Klimt exhibition !!
