Lucinda Slim Lucinda Slim, also known as Tanja Daese, Nia Saw, Tanya Saw, Thiaba Sow and Tanja Sow, has more than one string to her bow. A record collector, DJ and singer / songwriter, she has worked for over a decade with Grammy-nominated vocal group Zap Mama as well as with Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Antibalas, Sergio Mendez, The Haggis Horns, Youssou N’Dour (Triple Grammy Award Winner), Ladysmith Black Mambazo and many others. Born to a Senegalese father and a Belgian mother, Lucinda was raised on the sounds of Miriam Makeba, Nina Simone and Billie Holiday. While living in London in the 90s, Lucinda Slim crossed paths with Keb Darge (Legendary Deep Funk DJ, Lost and Found, London). She started collecting rare funk and soul, and became Keb Darge’s resident DJ partner at the world famous Madame Jojo's Deep Funk Night, London, spinning 100% vinyl 45s. Following numerous collaborations as a guest singer, in 2015 Lucinda Slim released her debut EP "Lucinda Slim & the Law Men" on vinyl, featuring Paul Weller’s favorite tune of 2009 ("All This Time" // MOJO Magazine). Songs on the EP were co-written by Keb Darge and Gabe Roth (bass player and producer for The Dap Kings, also double Grammy winner for Amy Winehouse's breakthrough record "Back to Black"). The vinyl EP sold out in record time but is being made available via digital download through Haggis Records in anticipation of Lucinda's upcoming new full-length.
