Hiro (@t_w_o_o_n_e )and I have been friends for a long time, but we started recording our music/play sessions in 2013. Hiro and I have painted a lot together but at some stage we turned to playing music together as a way of playing and hanging/zoning out. We are both equally matched by our novice level and enthusiasm. We’re lucky to have a strong friendship that is strengthened by a commitment to play and make things together. I’m very lucky to have a friend like Hiro and we live a very fortunate life - we are very LuckyBoys. I hope that when people look and listen to this project that they think about friendship and freedoms and make some music for yourself. This 7” self titled vinyl is the first set of recordings from a bigger set collected between 2013-2020 in a few various spots in Melbourne and Berlin. We’re looking forward to sharing more in the future. The bright blue vinyl includes a 16 page booklet of penpal collaborations between Hiro and I peppered with new and old collections of our team ups. The first 20 copies include some weird original sketches from Hiro and I. Biggest love and thanks to Michael @_fikaris for putting this together. Michael you’re a wise man and a beautiful mind. Head over here to @silentarmystoreroom to get on the pre-order list, as it’s a small limited edition. Extra thanks to Oliver van der Lught for mastering this release. 💚 This work from Hiroyasu Tsuri/twoone and David Booth/ghostpatrol is taken from a larger series of recordings made on and off over the years between 2013 - 2020. The five tracks move through dreamy soundscapes to warm studio jams wrapped up in a kind of heightened awareness of existence. On first listen it sounds like you could be hearing a lost demo from Oneohtrix Point Never or Nils Frahm, with other tracks sounding like something that you might find on a Light Sounds Dark label release. On repeated listens though, you will notice the unique qualities, depth and transcendence within the songs made here. These songs are a form of art making meditation and it comes as no surprise when you know the two musicians are both productive visual artists, who were also painting and drawing together during the same sessions in their homes and studios in Melbourne and Berlin. hiroyasutsuri.com david-booth.com www.silentarmy.org credits released February 1, 2021 All music by David Booth and Hiroyasu Tsuri LuckyBoys’s tracks A1 Patch Of Sun by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:32:32Z A2 Divided Worlds by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:32:25Z A3 Elevated Rail Line by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:32:19Z A4 Before The Alarm by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:32:10Z A5 Keys by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:32:03Z A7 Jun Arrives + Laughing With Jun Then He Says 'Oh Shit' by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:31:56Z B1 Put The Flowers In The Glasses by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:31:49Z B2 Bring by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:31:41Z B3 Slow Guitar by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:31:33Z B4 Morning Everywhere by LuckyBoys published on 2021-04-24T09:31:26Z
