06 Lord Of The Spring by Blood and Sun published on 2015-03-09T13:26:48Z Blood and Sun is Luke Tromiczak (Maledicere) in collaboration with Thomas Ashe, Tanner Anderson (Obsequaie, Celestiial), Erik Wivinus (Thunderbolt Pagoda), and Angela Mcjunkin; Midwestern natives, with shared Heathen sympathies and ice-laden backgrounds breeding uncommon art. From this union comes the first fruit, bearing the title White Storms Fall. As plaintive as that title, Blood and Sun’s canvas is solely comprised of solemnly chiming strings and richly resonating percussion, with proud-yet-understated male voice rising (and falling) from this spare sonic latticework. A sweep of the album’s song titles (among them: “Cedar Smoke”, “Hewn”, “Veiled Lady”, “Lord of the Spring”, and most poignantly, “Slaughter the Instant”) further paints Blood and Sun’s picture in hues as bold and brilliant as their very moniker. To further complete this Ouroboros-like circle of sound and vision, the vinyl version of White Storms Fall shall feature a stunning, large-format reproductions of select works from Luke Hillestad‘s Heritage works. As the Winter gives way to Spring, there is only Blood and Sun… White Storms Fall has been recorded in Minnesota in Sunless Houses Studios and mixed and mastered at Absinthe Studios in Westminster, Colorado by the legendary Robert Ferbrache. It has been made available in a heavyweight, textured, and foil-printed gatefold, with a stapled-in art/lyric book protected by Vellum. This 200gm black vinyl includes a CD version of the album. http://pesanta.com Genre Folk
