More Holiness Give Me by Lydia Theobald published on 2012-11-25T07:33:37Z “Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin. Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul.” (2 Nephi 4:28) Nephi was an incredibly righteous young man; he always obeyed the Lord, never murmuring. When he receives the prophetic mantle from his father Lehi, he becomes very introspective. In a very tender and special section of the Book of Mormon, he shares some of his struggles with us. He speaks of how he is so “easily beset” by temptation and sins (2 Nephi 4:18), and how he wishes to be a more righteous person. He constantly praises God, expressing his desire to be more like him. This song is a beautiful prayer asking the Lord to help us improve ourselves, to “no longer droop in sin,” to be more like the Savior. Genre Religious
