Can you love me by Paul Maurice Roche, Composer published on 2024-03-17T17:28:42Z When you improvise, you have no idea what it is, that you are about to play. When you first replay recordings of pieces you have improvised, you still have no idea what happens next, even if you have only just recorded the piece. In other words, you must 'learn the piece', by listening to what you have only just improvised. This may appear to be a paradox (the notion of 'learning' something AFTER you have already played it). However, musicians who improvise, know this is so. They also know that the vast majority of improvisation attempts, result in a complete dog's breakfast. This is a rare example (for me) of an improvised piece, located somewhere on the sunny side, of the asonorous catastrophe line. Genre Jazz & Blues
