Skyzoo - Bodega Flowers (feat. BJ The Chicago Kid) by Mello Music Group published on 2021-06-09T21:17:50Z From the upcoming album "All The Brilliant Things" by Skyzoo prod. by Karl Marx We’re currently in an error of giving people their flowers while they can still smell them. Showing appreciation to one another today instead of next week, which I think is great and long overdue. If you know my music, the themes are largely based on the inner city, corner stores, etc, so this record is about Bodega flowers. Living in a world where you have to push to be respected, push to be appreciated, push to be valued, but coincidentally that world doesn’t want us to push when we need to; be it police brutality, social injustice, forcing us out of or homes, etc. They want us to push for what’s ours but then get offended when we push for what matters to us, or when we push back harder than they’d assumed. BJ The Chicago Kid jumped on the hook and truly brought it home. The back and forth of us on the chorus ties it all together. The moral being: we want flowers but we want them because you want to give them to us, not because we made you. If we have to make you, it may get more forceful than you’d imagined, all by your own design. So just give us our flowers, and all will be fine. We promise.
