His songs and compositions have been recorded by important Brazilian artists, including top brazilian jazz singer Leny Andrade and brazilian bopular music-Star Rosinha de Valença and outside of Brazil in Italy, Spain and the USA. After almost 50 years “on the road” as composer, musician, interpreter, painter and teacher in history - Messias finalized his first CD in 2010 ! On may 1st, 2011 the album “Retrato de um Violeiro” (Portrait of a Brazilian Viola-Guitarrist) was launched by tuhumusic ! Future editions will include a book with his paintings, poetry, essays and biographic data, as well as reports by renowned jornalists and art critics and a DVD with photos and videos of and about the artist. The african diaspora in Brazil extends to Rio de Janeiro and to the south of Minas Gerais, place of birth of Messias dos Santos and region of great importance in the rural afro-brazilian culture. Returning to the provinces and the interior of his Brazil - and to the interior of his soul and his nation, the african Banta - Messias prides his family and the roots of those crimped to Brazil.
