The King of Castletown by michaelmccague published on 2016-09-25T22:25:52Z I wrote this tune in the key of E major, with Finbarr Dwyer's phrasing and composing style to the forefront of my mind. Finbarr played B/C style accordion but played it on a C#/D system which was tuned up a semitone to D/D#. This left his tunes coming out a whole tone higher "tuned in e flat". As another nod to Finbarr, I decided to write this tune in E major also because if an accordion player was to play it in the key of D on B/C style on a C#/D accordion it would come out in the key of E.
