This is our review episode for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. (Yes, that was the correct punctuation, and you’re welcome, fellow punctuation & grammar nerds… this is also for you >;”-”?!<:) Directed by Martin McDonagh, we begin our presentation with a filmography of both McDonagh brothers, and we learn “Three Billboards” is not an unusual title by comparison. The Production Profile also bios Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell, where we learn about traveling ministers, alternative high schools, serendipitous college roommates, and city bike food deliveries. Nowhere else in all recorded entertainment history will there be a smattering of those 4 things. Wait, you’re thinking about one of the Van Wilder sequels? The direct to video third installment in the Van Wilder saga? Fine! Then we’re the Van Wilder: Freshman Year of movie podcasts.
Where am I? Oh, the Non-Spoiler Review focuses on each of the production values and then covers the great performances. We discuss the soundtrack and go on a tangent about dancing bearded men, and we gush over the performances of the the lead and supporting characters in the film. McDormand leads the way, but we also tout Rockwell and Harrelson’s Oscar chances.
The spoiler music plays, and all you fans go wild in my fantasy life. I mean, you’re naked. I MEAN!!!, we transition into the spoiler section. Moving into a review of our best & worst scenes, we then dive into each of the major plotlines before breaking down the film’s strange and perplexing finale.
