Founder of an bitinstant exchange and an early adopter keeps his BTC on other exchange known to have issues for a long time trusting to get those IOU back. Who else should know that only you should have the encrypted private key to your money? 2014-03-01T07:12:07Z Comment by Pamela Thompson You mention the people running Mt.Gox were older and more experienced... Do you think they didn't take bitcoin seriously and looked at it like it doesn't matter what they do, the currency is a scam to begin with? I know you want to think MArk is a good person but, that's how sociopaths operate... 2014-02-28T23:05:22Z Comment by Q. Doneit Exchanges should be treated like a vulnerability which needs to be solved. 2014-02-28T16:28:03Z Comment by DJ Yo! This was a great episode! I applaud what you all are doing with this show. Excellent, fascinating, passionate work. 2014-02-27T16:45:38Z Comment by Linards Berzins and someone has a loads of btc because they know btc will succeed. we will have to simply monitor all btc transactions for ridiculous means and goods. 2014-02-27T14:37:45Z Comment by Linards Berzins mtgox is simply speculating the TBTF, this was a clear theft and Mark=scumbag (knows/is involved in that) is going to disappear and will never be trusted in btc community unless he changes his name and does plastic surgery, and suctions his bellyfat. 2014-02-27T14:34:37Z Comment by Blake's Reading Corner Gox is just gone by now guys... If you check out fiatleak.com the Chinese have been on a bitcoin shopping spree, and that has pushed the price up. They are preying on the fears of the rumors being regarding MtGox. People are cashing out, even at a loss, and the Chinese are buying. The Japanese are looking into their books, and the US is subpoena Mark. My crazy conspiracy is that indeed they will relaunch with all of their users BTC intact, and fiat intact, but they do want to scare some people, they want to shake up the market. When they relaunch the price of BTC will be exceptionally high, because it's going up right now, and then they will look good again. They'll be all like, look at how much money we made you, because we held your BTC, and you couldn't sell. I think they absolutely know that if they were to permit withdrawals, there would be a mass exodus, and that's exactly what they're trying to prevent. I don't buy it either that they lost that many customers funds. This is either fraud or genius. With that said, I also think they're looking for a "bailout", or for Satoshi to reveal herself.
