The Brodeur Bulletin: Melrose Circuit Breaker Tax Exemption by MMTV published on 2022-07-19T00:13:05Z Gov. Baker signed a Home Rule petition allowing the City of Melrose to offer a Circuit Breaker Property Tax Exemption Program to help Melrose homeowners 65 and older living on fixed incomes remain in their homes. Beginning August 1 and through September 30, eligible residents can apply to receive this additional tax exemption through the City’s Assessor’s Office. Through the program, residents who receive the Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit on their State Income Tax may be eligible for this program, resulting in real estate tax relief equal to 1.5 times their MA Circuit Breaker Credit.
