Love: another word for pain by moderns_music published on 2013-09-28T21:11:04Z Across the railroad track from my glorious studio was an abandoned, trash strewn cement loading dock where society's human detritus would come to drink, sleep and mill about. Taking a break from a particularly grueling night of recording one of my songs, I squinted in the gray dawn and focused on a red paint sprayed, almost illegible line that stated: "love... another word for pain". A bolt zinged through the back of my poor head and within a day of feverish, brainsick activity another audio analogy spewed forth from my shadow's ruler. Having miserably failed repeatedly to do the lyrics myself, good fortune appeared at my studio door in the form of Entertainment's Newest Time-out Sensation: 4 1/2 year old Julien (nephew of a writer friend of mine). At first the little recalcitrant diva-dude didn't wanna talk into the mic, until I bribed him by dangling a plastic sack of fakey, sugar coated, artificially flavored, gelatinous orange slices in front of his little pixie face. After eating one what transpired is, in my estimation, one of the most heartfelt renditions I can comfortably go to my grave being truly in love with. I also did that "question love" sculpture around the same time. Genre LOVE/PAIN
