PREMIERE: DJ Pasta - Waxing Moon feat Sebastian Adé [toucan sounds] by Moskalus published on 2021-04-11T08:21:13Z Italy’s DJ Pasta readies the funk-laden ‘Batadoris Too’ EP on Brooklyn’s toucan sounds this May. Opener ‘Piffero’ sees post-disco and Central American influences fuse together alongside dusty live percussion and a hypnotic flute riff for a lively and energetic start to the six-track EP, followed by ‘Waxing Moon’ with a grooving disco bassline and sizzling drum breaks to provide the perfect backdrop for Brooklyn native Sebastian Adés’ sultry vocal performance. ‘Tamborghini’ brings Moog-y synths to the forefront alongside a stuttering soul orchestra, moving into ‘Juno Lido’ which employs flickering arpeggios and rocking drum patterns for an addictive and highly danceable track. ‘Arrivederci’ follows, taking a dive into emotive, late-night territory with washed-out pads and driving leads, before an instrumental version of ‘Waxing Moon’ rounds out the release. DJ Pasta, real name Davide Piva, was previously involved with Amari and Fare Soldi, the latter of which had remixes and originals on labels such as Kitsune, Southern Fried, and Ministry Of Sound. Turning his sights now to toucan sounds, an imprint that has championed musclecars, Haruka Salt, and Brandon Markell Holmes, DJ Pasta finds a welcoming home for his disco excursions in the Brooklyn-based label. DJ Pasta ‘Batadoris Too’ drops on toucan sounds 28th May 2021, following the release of single ‘Waxing Moon’ on 30th April https://toucansounds.bandcamp.com/ https://www.toucansounds.com/ https://soundcloud.com/djpastaofficial https://soundcloud.com/user-506900678 https://soundcloud.com/toucansounds Genre Disco Comment by Jennyloco hell yeah!!! 2022-10-13T05:00:05Z Comment by smeerch Great work! 2021-04-29T12:32:00Z
