Started messing around with production, in the early 90's, using cracked Cubase and some outboard, keyboard, Akai S2000, Emu orbit, mixer and a couple of effects boxes, had one release, which originated in my studio, fast forward 30 years, and I'm now currently completely Daw based, as in Ableton and a few vst's, I sort of record stuff on the fly and currently only have a mouse, to do that with, no controller, launch pad etc, so sometimes it can be a little glitchy, I had a good long break from production, as had no inspiration to write, but over the last year or so, it's come back, I feel, I get better with each new tune, helps me unwind. Maybe grab some hardware again one day, but I don't find that Ableton restricts me, if anything, I find it easier to work with, it's the stuff that happens by mistake, love the way sounds clash, or harmonise with each other and create new sounds, all self taught, never even watched a tutorial and it's mainly been working on my own, I guess as someone with no actual musical training, but with a pretty good ear, it could be quite annoying for someone who is.
