I would say that the 16 bit USB sound is, on the one hand, a bit sharper and higher pitch sounding (I'm no good with the technical terms), whereas the XLR 24 bit example appears a bit quieter but fuller and more consistent. I hope you don't mind me asking the odd question but as the room I record in is quite far from ideal, would some foam squares be advisable, and if so, what kind of quality should I look for?
