Natalie DeLucia
Born and raised in a small suburb just outside of St. Louis, Missouri, Natalie DeLucia had big plans for stardom at a young age.
Having been trained in dance and gymnastics since the age of 3, she discovered her passion for singing shortly after. With a natural ability and adult-like work ethic, Natalie got her first professional televised gig at the age of 8 singing the national anthem for the St. Louis Blues hockey team. Its here, she would make a name for herself; singing at over 100 home and playoffs games. A year later, an audition for the Mickey Mouse Club would lead her to Orlando, Florida, where out of 85,000 hopefuls, only 24 were picked for the final rounds of auditions. Natalie was amongst those 24 finalists; auditioning along side of Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Ryan Gosling, and Britney Spears, who would later turn out to be a big part of Natalie's career. After being considered too young for the show, an unexpected phone call one month later would completely change the direction of Natalie's career.
She was invited to audition for the lead role in a newly written musical called Paper Moon, based on the 1973 movie starring Ryan O'Neal and Tatum O'Neal. Matt Casella, director of Paper Moon & casting director for MMC, asked 9 year old Natalie to come to New York and audition. Natalie won the lead role of 'Addie Loggins', and moved her family to New Jersey. After rave reviews off-broadway, the show was picked up for Broadway, and set to premier at the Marquee Theatre in NYC. Due to creative differences between the director and writers, the show was pushed back and eventually canceled before its premier.
Once back in St. Louis, Natalie would land lead roles as 'Annie' in the musical Annie, and 'Dorothy' in The Wizard of Oz, as well as various other roles at The Muny in St. Louis. At the age of 17, an old friend came calling. Britney Spears, Jive's new rising star, was headed on tour and looking for 2 back-up singers. With a recommendation from Spears herself, Natalie was hired by Jive Records as one of the two back-up singers. From 1999-2001, Natalie toured with Britney for 3 North American tours, overseas promo tours, as well as numerous television appearances including The Grammys, Saturday Night Live, Jay Leno, and MTV Music Awards. With immense respect and gratitude, Natalie left Spears and the touring behind, and moved to LA to focus on her career. There, she would collaborate with some of the music industry's most respected producers and writers; including Tim & Bob (Boyz II Men, Joe Thomas, Jon B.) and Chuckii Booker (Janet Jackson, En Vogue, Mary J. Blige). With a batch of solid material in her catalogue, Natalie performed at various venues including the Key Club on Sunset.
In the summer of 2009, Natalie was approached by A&R to work with singer, songwriter, producer Jud Mahoney (Tyrese, KC & Jojo, Michael Jackson) in a new venture he was creating that would land her a developing deal based out of London. Since then, Natalie has been mastering her craft; having recorded, vocally produced, and written for signed and unsigned artists worldwide. With an eagerness from a&r relationships built throughout her career, Natalie began working on her debut album in 2013, calling the experience "a productive therapy session." Heavily r&b based, with hip-hop infusions and a dash of pop, the album is set to release in 2014.
