As a young boy growing up in the late 80’s, early 90’s, Nightfire’s music taste was rather diverse, (His first ever cd was Enigma return to innocence, second ever was Bone Thugs N Harmony, First of Tha month!) Listening to everything and anything about.
This carried on until the age of 13 or so, when he discovered dance music, and more and more decent mix albums/compilations in the charts.
This is what started his love for trance, and it stayed that way until he got so fed up with the constant thump thump thump from his sister playing Hardcore, that he borrowed a Dreamscape tape pack to see what the fuss was about, and was hooked!
From then on he liked all things Dance - Trance,, Hardcore, Hardhouse and Hard Dance.
At the age of 21 he was thrown in the deep end of Hardcore by a friend, who took him raving pretty much every weekend.
It stayed this way until 2004 when said friend got a pair of decks, and Nightfire could finally experience what it’s like playing the music, as well as dancing all night to it
In 2006 he got his first booking at a small club, and from there he had a few more for the same club, but from different promoters.
He also gained a residencey from another friend who started his own hardcore night, as well as a few bookings for smaller hardcore nights along the way
Having played all over the south of the uk, Nightfire has played out Hardcore & Scouse House on many occasions, gaining a few Big Event bookings either as warm up, or in the 2nd/3rd room.
He even has 2 Bootleg collaboration remixes under his belt, both being Hardcore.
Nightfire was loving the Hardcore and mixing it, until he started to get disillusioned with the scene going too cheesey and commercial in 2009, so he turned his attention back to Trance, to get up to date with whats going on.
He was still taking Hardcore bookings, and listening to it, but was preffereing the older sounds, whilst mixing Trance at home, and posting mixes online to share with people.
But as of Sept'10 he finally gave up the headphones for hardcore, as it was changing in a way which was no longer for him.
Nightfire hasn’t 100% given up the hardcore, as he still loves the early sound which got him into it in the first place, and this has resulted in him gaining a few classic hardcore bookings in the pipeline
In oct 09, Nightfire was asked by his long standing DJ friend Raiden, to help put on a night at a trendy bar in town, playing house, electro and trance. Thus, Ibiza sessionz was born.
After a good run of over a year, and moving to a new venue which then closed, Ibiza sessionz is currently in hiatus, looking for a new venue to call our home.
We found a new home in the refurbed Harrys bar, called Bar45, and we continued for another 8 months before Nightfire and Raiden decided to end Ibiza sessionz for a few reasons, and mainly deciding we had a good run, and couldnt progress the night any further. so, as of August '12, Ibiz Sessionz was no more, but the memories will live on.
It was this night that got Nightfire deeper into the House and Electro sound that he now cant get enough of, and is his predominant style of choice, although, now he has rekindled his love for hard trance and hard dance, and acheving his finest booking to date, winning a main room hard trance warm up set for Oxygen Summer Slam 3 0n the 10/09/11.
This set his sights firmly on getting more hard trance bookings under his belt, and maybe even a new main genre of choice.
After a unwilling forced hiatus, Nightfire is back on the mixing tip after 5 years away from the wheels of steel.
He is now getting his groove back using vinyl, cdj's and rekordbox and is hoping to get some bookings in the not so distant future.
