#NovaraFM: Generation Left? by Novara Media published on 2019-04-26T13:36:48Z James Butler is joined by Keir Milburn to discuss his new book 'Generation Left'. Why has age become a predictor of political preference? What does it mean to talk about generations in a political context? Do they detract from a class analysis? What happened to the generation of 2011? Where does conservatism come from? And what would happen if the left gave up its alibis? http://novaramedia.com/?p=13300 Genre News & Politics Comment by amasulem I suppose I am of the Chernobyl Generation. I joined the Green Party in the 80s. The high point in the politicisation of that was in 1989 EU elections and since then the whole political discourse has been based in the sidelining of that movement. Since then the the world has taken the course of individual gratification and nihilistic disregard of collective action. As you say most politics falls into the genocidal backwards looking resignation that this system is all there can be, and those who realise that the anthropocidal abyss is just another way of preserving competitive nature of neoliberalism. Barbarism or revolution. 2019-04-27T02:49:34Z
