Bending The Rules And End Credits by NumericNoise published on 2022-02-25T14:20:45Z This is the eighth and final track of the original score composed for the fan film "Renegade". The 8th track brings to an end the journey which began just under two years ago when our dear director, having heard a few musical ideas I had sent him to maybe re-soundtrack (now there’s a mouthful) the original Red Riding Hood movie, asked me if I would be interested in writing “some music” for a sequel with a running time of no more than “ten-ish minutes”. Little did we know that we would end up with a movie of 25 minutes with the same amount of original music. I am using the word “we” because I was provided with excellent directorial advice (which I occasionally followed) on what the music should sound like: “Make it sound like this but don’t make it sound too much like this” is what I was being told on multiple occasions. While the project for me was a first in genre, size and complexity I very much enjoyed it. It was an awesome experience to see the post production edits come together over time to form a movie while I was writing the music, even if it occasionally meant throwing out and rewriting an entire line of music. To see what had come back from the live shoots with our excellent cast and the elaborate special effects trickling in from post was a permanent source of motivation. Finally, I was unprepared for and overwhelmed by the comments and compliments of the crew and their friends at the crew screening in Langenthal. Thank you all! As for the future of my music and myself I do have a few plans for the odd bonus track, based on the materials written for the movie. Time permitting these tracks will be appearing on my Soundcloud account over the next months or so. While you’re here I invite you to listen to some of my older tracks and maybe leave a comment. If there was a thing like “Frenchhorn-drop” that’s what I’d be doing now and who knows, maybe we’ll all be meeting again in “Rubera has a bad feeling about something” or so. Whatever it will be, count me in :-) Stay safe and May the Force be with us! The film had it's world premiere at "Fantasy Basel 2021" last October and is now available on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8i06F9SViP6NISkx4AA3fQ Genre Soundtrack
