okho "Vignola" type beat by osvald published on 2021-12-09T21:40:53Z Made a beat as if it was featured on the album "Vignola" by ohko. Almost got there, but the overall quality didn't quite match the one of the album. (In hinsight i shouldve doubled the amount of glitches and not have added an 808. How do you do it ohko?) Back in 2018 this album, or ohko in general, blew my mind. I had never heard a sound this weird before, there were so many glitches, weird sounds, almost "bad" processing that made for this gritty and foreign sound. The use of everyday sounds like crowds talking, wobbly pitchbended percussion, loops, glitches and sounds that do not belong in music, it introduced me to a new sound. The album has a certain fragility that come with melancholic and nostalgic feelings. Even though "ohko" most likely didnt invent this style of beats and some would credit J Dilla for this type of sampled and looped beats, this sound was new for me, and i still think "ohko" was ahead of his time with this 2016 release.
