OSC #179 Overtone Pendulum by Ondes Memorielles published on 2024-01-31T21:47:28Z Inspired by multiple Pendulums with different lengths like in this Video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4ICFmAr_DQ Its a single Grid patch triggering 2* 24 Oscillators tuned in the overtone row. One set plays the first 24 overtones, the other set plays the first 24 prime number overtones. Each oscillator in a set has a different speed. I modulate the waveforms and the attack and decay times of the oscillators, which creates the changing sounds... Genre Ambient Comment by ontrackp I am very impressed with the concept and sounds! Math meets creativity -- successfully! 2024-02-15T14:23:37Z Comment by ontrackp really interesting and nicely executed concept, but some editing would probably have made it a little more engaging, or help it "flow" better. 2024-02-15T14:22:37Z Comment by ontrackp Nice first notes! 2024-02-15T14:21:25Z Comment by SilverPants Bravo! 2024-02-13T23:05:29Z Comment by Autonym Great concept, and the realisation works ! 2024-02-12T23:19:54Z Comment by Immanencer This, in my mind, is one of the most interesting tracks in this OSC. It's generative and experimental but sounds good. My only possible suggestion might be to "curate" the collection to select the most interesting sections. 2024-02-12T06:03:24Z Comment by ELEX Interesting concept, interesting outcome. Experimental music with a positive vibe. I like it, it made me smile. 2024-02-11T13:23:53Z Comment by Mauvecastle refreshingly different and it works. 2024-02-08T12:09:25Z Comment by Violator_alba Getting a Daphne Oram/BBC radiophonics workshop vibe from this! Brilliant stuff! 2024-02-05T17:53:13Z Comment by NeverBeenInARiot I've seen a few vids recently where periodicity and overtones were the main driver of the track, and this is a sublime example of that. Experimental yet very musical and a treat for the ears. My only complaint, it's way too short :) 2024-02-05T12:26:13Z Comment by Full Bucket Großartig! <3 2024-02-05T07:59:08Z Comment by OooSLAJEREKooO sounds like 256b demo. nice experiment! really cool tones 2024-02-04T03:40:17Z Comment by OooSLAJEREKooO :o 2024-02-04T03:38:49Z Comment by abot81 This is seriously awesome. Lay on floor. Headphones full volume. What a sonic experience! Thank you for your submission! 2024-02-04T02:48:12Z Comment by SilverPants I am delighted to experience such a mathematical experiment with music! I saw the pedulum video many years ago - and also tried to make some sort of audio equivalent. Not as successfully as yours though. 2024-02-02T10:20:06Z Comment by Jack Frost Wow, this is like the 70s computer music you heard from John Chowning and other music programmers! 2024-02-02T04:59:41Z Comment by Cdbaksu very cool concept, and great sounds; though I feel there's a missed opportunity to further fine-tune the speed of the pendulums to create something truly musical.. awesome job nonetheless! 2024-01-31T22:36:28Z
