Orphan Affillite
Savannah
The seminal Orphans union that founded the first Orphan collective; "OPRHANS AFFFL.". Before the "super-groups" from the Orphans net would form, songwriter, composer, and guitarist, Brennan Broderick, front-manned a gig-oriented group of working-class musicians. There was no goal other than to write songs, and play shows, in that order. Not considering priority one: make money!
A performance is enough to see these Orphans aren't overly grateful for their roles, although full of gratitude as individuals.
So also, the singer doesn't hide his reluctance. The claim; he sings out of necessity. Still, the energy is nothing short of magnetic. Intense; pulling at an unguarded part of you. Uncomfortable, yet satisfying; with depth that provokes a lament for the tempest of thought. Whatever the mood, Orphans are consistent about one thing; the performance will always be authentic. The energy of the Orphans seems to be glue to hold them together. Barnhill -just add 'Broderick'- are an inimitable match, to make Tinder jealous! Yes.
You couldn't dream up a better pair of songwriters. Forget the joke about the drummers famous last words! Orphans have a bottomless amount of creative contributions, manifested through songwriting Orphan, and drummer, NIcholas Barnhill. A sure fire because of his relentless work ethic and hard hitting, hard-attack approach, his work resume now steps back, his versatility as a musician second only to his compositional capabilities.
The trifecta was breaking records and stereotypes everywhere! They were a moving, cruising, groove-finding machine; a veritable rhythm factory. They had complete command over their means of labor, and as of such, they offered a fully-refunded, 30 day, "Best Vibes Guarantee" . You get the BEST VIBES, or you can you get your FEELS back, COMPLETELY ON THEM!!
There is always something tasty for the slappers at the bottom. The Orphans are graciously, complimented by the pleasingly punchy, gut-grabbing, psychic-vibe, (on all depend) gander of the subterranean groove panther himself!
Brad Boswells brilliant, programmer-like, large cat finesse, shines brightest in his flawlessly-sharp execution, during the most Orphan of the Orphans most improvisational sessions; his cream o' wheat, PGP-encrypted, bass lines making hash-rates everywhere sweat like they know something... VIBE!!
This tight group, rhythmic squad, and melodic trio of hard workers would lay the foundation for a slew of aid, skilled supply, and assistance of the Savannah local musicians projects -within the more "free-lance" oriented musicians circles. [a.k.a. the 'Orphans Affiliated']-
Circa 2013-2016 :The Orphans were no strangers to filling in at short notice for cancelled acts; lending and distributing from the pool of talent the Affiliated Orphans [OPH. AFFL.] offered as a collective; working as a community! The more you wanted to pay, the better the show was guaranteed.
Such local talent including: Embus-E, Bozzy [Will], The Rotten Co-Founders, Pete Johnson, Bermuda Run, Sisterbeards, Individually Twisted, The Syndicate, Permission to Launch, Blake Turner, Shane Nelson, Beau Smith, Space Devil Butterfly, Simon Hodgeson, Kenny Wong, Wormsleow, Josh Johannson, and of course the infamous, Kieth Baudry, to name a few.
With this newfound, widely accepted coalition creating an empowering position for all in free-lance desiring to abandon management and oversight, Barnhill, Broderick, and Boswell deployed an imperialistic approach to the microcosm of their local music scene -leveraging the circuit with their capable network of affiliated musicians.
The brand eventually (due to lack of incomparable pretension) dissipated, when key songwriter, composer, and creative driving force, was arrested and taken to jail; indefinitely.
The network continued organically, however, and remains loosely in tact today. Although, it's current realization is only an afterimage of the working-class musicians union it once represented.
