ParanoiKa Paranoika ParanoiKa knows how to treat such subjects as "madness”, "unbalance" and "paranoia" in a funny way. Dancing is the number one rule in the vocabulary of the band from Curitiba, Brazil, that despite the short time of existence, has already conquered its spot. The name is saucy; the music is peppy and the show, cathartic. The first album — which carries the name of the quartet — is just out of the oven. It is filled with the ‘80s synthpop and the ‘90s British indie-electrorock. The influences of bands with female vocals like Garbage, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Goldfrapp and Portishead ParanoiKa fulfill the identity of the band, bringing a sharp Karla Hill as the lead singer. The posh girl's voice opens the album with "Another Chance", a modern electrorock —which has a melancholic trip hop version as a bonus track. A flood of foreign comments on ParanoiKa’s Soundcloud proves the global identity of the quartet. You can’t hold your moves with "Out of Control", an euphoric track of heavy drums, burnt guitars and powerful vocals. Or "My Toy", an "acid electro punk rock," according to the definition of a British fan. The hit "Unconditional", which tells the story of a love affair, sticks in the head and makes you want to shake it all over the dance floor. This mix of fun and attitude is the recipe of ParanoiKa! BIOGRAPHY Electro and synthpop are part of the DNA of the rock band ParanoiKa. Formed in 2008 by Karla Hill and Cesar Mattos the South-Brazilians released their first music video on April 2011. The chosen song was the ultra-danceable hit "Unconditional", making clear the influence of the 80's in the sound of the quartet. The music video is available on brazilian MTV’s website and several national TV shows. In 2011, ParanoiKa established itself as a big name in the music scenario of southern Brazil with the invitation to perform at one of the biggest music festivals over there, Lupaluna. The performance leaded to other concerts in Sao Paulo, the music capital of Brazil. Also, some of the songs of ParanoiKa were part of the soundtrack of Boomerang’s hit "Temporada de Moda Capricho", a fashion reality TV show. These are just a few good results that the band achieved even before releasing their debut album, entitled ParanoiKa. Now, it is just a matter of time before you find yourself singing the chorus of "Unconditional" or humming the acid twist from "My Toy".
