patrice gomis patrice gomis Paris Born in Paris from a French mother and a Bissau Guinean father, Patrice Gomis is and has always been passionate about music. With influences of a father that had played salsa and cha-cha for money, he learned to play violin, and guitar, while he was part of choir where he sang Mozart, Beethoven, Fauré… Later he will learn to play piano, and become a teenager he set up bands and played in clubs in the head city and around. His perfectionism pushed him to improve his musical knowledge. He learned, counterpoint, classical and contemporary harmony, composition, instrumentation and orchestration. Besides, he earned his life composing original music for Gallimard for youngsters, and for movies. He signed the original score of L’Afrance and Andalucia two feature films conducted by his brother Alain. He also composed the music of Française by Souad el Bouhati in 2007. In 2008 leaving a promising start, he decided to refocus on his personal aspirations and left for Africa and his influences for the composition of an album. He settled down in Ziguinchor, in a red little house in Casamance Senegal, where he set up a mobile studio within which he gave free rein to his creativity. This first opus where he is accompanied by the Peace Orchestra is the result of a wonderful adventure, dense and intense, full of danger, and full of love. The lyrics in French and in English talk about the sense of life, and the necessity to be oneself. The trumpets of the Peace Orchestra provide new anthems for a new revolution now!
