He grew up on a farm in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland. His childhood in the wilds, instilled in him a sense of adventure and freedom, and a yearning for such is instilled in the music he makes. Cosby’s self-produced debut album The Deal, journeys from broken down, one man and his guitar, to orchestral arrangements and psychedelic inflections. Notable contributors to the album include mercury prize nominee Jon Hopkins. The record was mixed by studio legend Phill Brown whose CV includes The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, and David Bowie. It was most notably Brown’s work with Talk Talk and John Martyn that led Cosby to work with him. Cosby’s most recent record Blue Daze, followings a Sci-Fi narrative, with a delve into late 70s/ early 80s youth nostalgia. Meanwhile Cosby has been back in the studio, recording his next record, titled Dragon. This time with Winston Clifford, one of the country’s foremost jazz drummers, Tim Harries on bass (Brian Eno), and John Fumo on trumpet (Neil Young, James Brown). Dragon promises to be Cosby's most exciting offering to date. philcosby.info@gmail.com Phil Cosby’s tracks Reflection by Phil Cosby published on 2023-04-23T15:50:55Z Beneath The Roar by Phil Cosby published on 2023-04-23T15:50:56Z A Better Man by Phil Cosby published on 2023-04-23T15:50:57Z Straight Out Of Love by Phil Cosby published on 2023-04-23T15:50:59Z Exactly Ocean Blue by Phil Cosby published on 2023-04-23T15:51:01Z Arrest In You (aka Casey's Walk) by Phil Cosby published on 2023-04-23T15:51:03Z A Better Man by Phil Cosby published on 2022-11-06T18:04:31Z Mirari [single version] by Phil Cosby published on 2017-11-28T16:26:38Z
