Cibeal Kenmare Concert 1986 -Jackie Daly And Kevin Burke Part 1 by Handed Down Sliabh Luachra Audio Archive published on 2021-09-20T19:56:15Z The 1980’s was a golden age for those of us of a certain age . There were still pupils of Pádraig O Keeffe actively playing in our locality and they opened up a huge curiosity in us . Each year on the June Bank Holiday in Kenmare there was a brilliant Arts Festival called Cibeal Cincíse and it was here that we saw and heard the best musicians in Ireland . This festival was founded by Joe Thoma a fiddle player and his influence still resonates today , he showed us all that is good in the Arts world . This is an audience hand held tape recording ( after a long day ) so there is some chatter and noise but I hope you enjoy it like we did . From the June Bank Holiday 1986 at the Kenmare Bay Hotel . This was the highlight of the Sunday with a packed venue and an enthusiastic audience. Jackie Daly ,Kevin Burke accompanied by Gary O Briain and guest vocalist Kevin Coniffe from the Chieftains. recorded and donated to the Archive by PJ Teahan.
