Dead Reynolds - Lines (mp3) by PlugginBaby published on 2020-04-01T09:28:01Z Dead Reynolds are a five piece alt-rock act from various parts of East Anglia, UK. (Kings Lynn, Huntingdon, Chatteris) – and officially launched in October 2018. All of the band members were regulars on the Peterborough and Cambridge Rock music scene having been in bands before. Ben was in The First who released 2 albums “`Swimming with Sharks” & “Take Courage” plus supported Black Sabbath/Lower than Atlantis/Deaf Havana. Dom and Luke Green were in Phoenix Calling, who released 2 albums “Our Lost Hearts” & “Forget your Ghosts” and supported Young Guns/Brigade/The Vamps plus toured in Europe. Luke Green was in a punk band called Damage that supported UK Subs/Bad Manners and The Damned. Musical influences: Ben grew up on a diet of Van Halen, Guns n Roses, Queen and Skid Row. Dom and Luke Reid share these influences along with some newer bands – Alter Bridge/I Prevail/Normandie/BMTH. There is a 90's rock feel to our influences with Feeder/Manic Street Preachers running through but also a pop punk feel with A Day to Remember/Funeral for a Friend/Taking Back Sunday. Where did the name of the band come from? It was a throwaway comment Dom made shortly after Burt Reynolds had died and the band hadn’t heard... “what about old Dead Reynolds?” and it just stuck! They mix truly relevant, catchy Alt Rock and Pop punk with anthemic melodies and unexpected twists, crowd-pleasing noise and 2020 brings the release of their new “Frontier” EP. The tracks have all been really organic in their development, the initial ideas coming from acoustic guitar and all the band members playing a part in shaping them up to what is heard on the e.p. The band have been working closely with Jack Murphy from Crystal Sounds Studio to find a sound that encompasses everything they love about rock music and its many forms. The band say: Our first EP “Souls” was us, as a group of musicians at the beginning of a journey, tentative but hungry to get out live and put down the new songs and statements we had. Frontier is the continuation and the progression of our song writing and musicians turning into friends and now family. Frontier is a divide, a natural line, an intent to go forward, achieve, be brave and push the boundaries in ourselves, musically and explore new ideas. We don’t see ourselves doing anything other than this, this is what we do and what we do is this. Frontier explores people, relationships, un-resolved feelings, history and the realisation that it’s all a continuum. Fighting through the darkness, falling fast but coming out of the other side a better version of yourself. Lines – written as a letter to yourself – acknowledging your faults and the need for growth. Not being hung up on the past. Breaking down the walls of despair, falling apart in the process and realising it's “killing me” and how to get through it.
