Even with the callback to Ryan's car-registration story, here, talking about foreclosure there's a "Name-of-the-Father' joke _right there_ and all four of you left it on the table! SMH. 2022-08-08T19:26:05Z Comment by xoanon93 I re-listened to this episode after having listened (for the first time ) to Why Theory's tryptich on Deleuze and Guattari/Deleuze Before Guattari/Deleuze After Guattari and it was a nice complement; probably no accident I think the episodes were recorded close together in time. 2022-08-08T19:22:00Z Comment by DavidAPowers I would argue that professionals who work themselves to death, are not driven by attachment to ideology, but by the necessity of competition in order to survive in the social darwinian necro-political environment of hypercapitalism, and by the investment of libido into people, places, and things. 2022-02-11T16:24:55Z Comment by DavidAPowers I thought I was over D&G, but after listening to hours of whytheory, I have a lot better understanding of Lacan, which has actually brought me back around to Guattari. For me, the problem is that I'm a musician who prefers instrumental music, and I think that instrumental music is essentially psychotic from the Lacanian perspective. But to me, musicians like W A Mozart, Claude Debussy, John Coltrane, or Ornette Coleman actually teach us something about emancipation. But music is conspicuously absent from the discourse of Freud and Lacanian, I think it represents a limit in the discourse of psychoanalysis. 2022-02-11T13:43:45Z Comment by Chaosophy Street hell yeah 2021-07-05T03:22:00Z
