Quartzone continued walking through the forest, appreciating its nature. The place was colourful and peaceful.
However, the calm didn't last, because suddenly, a light blue, shiny arrow sneaked through the air at amazing speed and landed just in front of the bear's feet, nailed to the ground. Alerted, Quartzone looked around to see where the arrow came from. It was no use, the speed of the object was such that he couldn't manage to see its trajectory. Quartzone knew that he couldn't stay there forever, so he continued his exploration at a faster pace. Anyway, as soon as he started walking, something in a tree moved and quickly jumped down from it to land right in front of the scarf bear.
The hero couldn't describe the feeling he had at the moment he saw the creature. The adjective to describe it was... "Elegant". Ahead of him, a female bear with white fur and a blue ribbon in her head stood in a graceful pose, wearing a big chalcedony necklace. She was holding a wood bow and carried a case full of those shiny arrows in her back. Her face showed a brave look, although her facial features made her look soft. She looked like she was ready to fight whatever she had to.
Quartzone was parallized and didn't know what to do. When he opened his mouth to talk, the girl interrupted him.
- Animals like you are not allowed here. - She said without moving.
- Animals? Not allowed? Is this a private space or something? - Quartzone asked.
- Of course it is, this is OUR home, and animals like you are not welcome, especially since you are a bear. - Quartzone was quick enough to grab one of his citrine blades and diver an arrow the girl shooted right at him.
- Well. Wait a second please, I know this is gonna sound strange, but I just got up in a weird cave and... - The gray fur bear couldn't finish talking when the girl started preparing more arrows to attack. Refusing to fight, Quartzone decided to avoid his opponent in a peaceful way. He was not into violence unless it was fully necessary. After dodging some more projectiles the white bear threw at him, the scarf hero began to think about running away to elude a direct fight.
- Why are you not fighting back, bear? - The girl asked.
- Waste of time I guess... Meh. - The confident mood in Quartzone's words managed to hide well enough his real reasons and his peaceful nature.
- Huh?! - The girl sounded offended. - Am I not good enough for your blades?
- My blades are probably not good enough for your bow, really. - Quartzone didn't think this girl was evil, so he knew he wouldn't be able to hurt her. The only solution he saw was to run away, and so he did.
- You coward! - the white bear shouted and jumped to the tree again to start chasing him through the treetops. Quartzone kept running until an arrow hit his leg and fell to the ground. Above him, the girl stood bravely, with her foot placed on the gray bear's chest so he couldn't move. The white bear was holding him in place so tightly that Quartzone couldn't get to grab his blades to defend himself. He knew this was his dead end.
Even though Quartzone knew he was going to die, seeing the girl's expression and the bow pointing so elegantly at him made him blush. "How graceful...", he thought. The girl raised her eyebrows for a second, but she prepared her arrow.
- Chalcelle! What are you doing?! - A voice shouted and a tiny elf approached from behind one of the trees. - Eco? What are you doing here? - The girl's look changed to a more friendly one. She even... smiled? Quartzone looked at her.
- This intruder refused to fight me. - Chalcelle said. Eco got a bit closer to Quartzone and examined him. - The scarf... - He said and started sweating. - Chalcelle, leave him alone, he's not an intruder. - Eco said calmly, but he started shaking again after seeing Quartzone's hurt leg. The scarf hero looked at him, confused, and so did Chalcelle.
- Come on, we have to get him to the village. - Eco said.
