(WARNING! This was generated by A.I.) Du kannst ja mal... (das Tierbuch fragen) by R.U.R. published on 2024-04-07T18:00:56Z PLEASE READ THIS! THIS IS NOT A PROMOTION! I'm posting this here as a curiosity and... a sorts of warning. Artificial Intelligence has entered the sphere of music creation. And it hits with enormous power... This is a song that my wife (she's German Language teacher) generated using Suno.ai in about 2 minutes, just giving it a prompt to generate a rock song. Its lyrics come from a really cheesy song included in a children's textbook. She just wanted the song to sound more accessible to today's kids. She didn't actually realize what this song would cause. And it left me completely shocked and actually questioning the point of further activities in music... My wife, by generating this song, gave the A.I. a lot of scope for its own "imagination". She did not specify the structure of the song or the elements to be included in it - which can be set by entering appropriate comments in the song's text. What surprised me is how wisely the A.I. approached this task, how it determined what should be included in this song. A huge surprise for me is the second part of the song, where the A.I., having no more lyrics, created something incredible, using elements such as triplet, half-time and returning when we expect the song to have ended. What's even more surprising is that the A.I. understood that it was a song in German and was inspired by German-speaking bands such as Die Ärzte and used the typical German song structure, including the sound of the vocals. Yes, I know, I do music for fun, but I still don't know what to do next... I'm thinking how it will impact the music industry? Let's talk about it in the comments and remember - let's be polite. Below is a link to the original song, I improved it a bit, but whether it's for the better is a matter of taste: https://app.suno.ai/song/180bb869-7d3f-47d7-86fa-8f44261ee80c/ And here is another one that left me speechless, also generated by my wife: https://app.suno.ai/song/d5cb1dec-43ca-4d5f-a6f0-f4d8b5825cdc/ Genre Rock Comment by Jeff Roberts Well this could put Nickelback and Foo Fighters out of work...maybe not a bad thing. ; ) 2024-05-14T18:45:27Z Comment by jigs trippin its impressive what A.I. can do , no doubt about that , but its not for me , i love to struggle and create things my own way :-) 2024-05-14T18:15:34Z Comment by Frans Beelaard Extraordinary fascinating sound experience! Excellent quality work.. Awesome mix & recording production! 2024-05-14T08:32:10Z Comment by Julius Granell Nice drum¡ 2024-05-11T21:19:19Z Comment by Pier WILL ❤️🕊️🙏 - SURPRISING -!- I'm a retrograde old fart and I love music and art in general so much... I already knew for a long time that AI would come and put these dirty bytes in there! So, some will say that it is progress, of course, but when it is in the service of humans, but not the other way around. The title that you created with AI is precisely the example of “too perfect”! My music is made with presets that I design, then I take care that it is not perfect and that the ear hears this difference unconsciously. No AI for me, even a try ☺️ 2024-05-11T13:33:54Z Comment by Alain GUERIN Superb rock. Perfect realization. Beautiful voice. Great. Bravo. 2024-05-09T14:04:11Z Comment by John Palmer I am pretty sure AI can also be a great help, Like in the modular world of music. but when it takes total control it becomes something else , and that´s not for me. 2024-05-07T15:39:37Z Comment by Louis Taverna This is kinda scary in a way, I'm glad you're bringing this to other musicians attention, though I'm not sure how many are understanding that this was made by AI. A very uncertain future honestly. 2024-05-06T23:15:20Z Comment by Karin-Maria Brunner KI kann schon recht viel und lernt immer mehr dazu. 2024-05-06T05:10:37Z Comment by Shin SAKAMOTO Yeah,Great! 2024-05-05T08:11:13Z Comment by betterlate I have a fondness for handknotted kazak rugs and am lucky to own a couple. While machine made rugs copy the design of hand knitted rugs, there's a certain something that machine made rugs cannot capture. I'd like to think music is similar and represents self expression. For me, whil undeniably clever AI artwork is already feeling a bit sterile and lacks something. 2024-05-04T15:11:08Z Comment by Palatinus haha...I don't believe you... nice track tho 2024-04-28T12:52:23Z Comment by NG-Xp Die Software ist erstaunlich, aber sie produziert einfach vorhersehbaren Mist und demonstriert auch die formelhafte Armut der meisten Genres zeitgenössischer Musik. Danke für den Beitrag mit der Erklärung. 2024-04-26T18:30:25Z Comment by Ingo Bremenkamp ☺️👌 2024-04-25T13:25:09Z Comment by Konrad Spittelberg cooler rockiger sound! faehrt ein! 2024-04-23T21:12:41Z Comment by LARENGONAT we can still worry with AI....judicious post Richard 😒👌 2024-04-22T12:28:52Z Comment by Alan Hamilton An excellent Rock track really well produced Richard....Very powerful. 2024-04-22T06:15:59Z Comment by Present Paradox das ist sehr gruselig... das einzige was nicht funktioniert ist die Bridge, aber sonst schon fast Radio-Ready 2024-04-20T17:04:10Z Comment by Vocalatti Amazing but scary too what AI can do!! Brilliant son though!! 2024-04-18T19:28:02Z Comment by dj.PietrekB. No nieźle wyszło ale nic i nikt nie zstąpi tworzenia muzy samemu :) 2024-04-17T17:19:51Z Comment by SUNNYBECK I’m both distressed 🫤 and intrigued. 😃Treat AI as a tool or not? 🤔😬 A lot to think about! Thanks for publishing this piece and posting links. 🙏 ❤️ 2024-04-17T00:47:22Z Comment by Hega Sounds awesome 2024-04-16T17:30:01Z Comment by Halcyon Dream Machine cool! 2024-04-16T16:02:07Z Comment by Halcyon Dream Machine Klingt nach Tote Hosen :-) ! 2024-04-16T16:01:57Z Comment by Monotronaut Yeah, I agree that it’s getting pretty disturbing how good it is, considering how laughable it was maybe 6 months ago, in a year you won’t be able to tell. I’ve experimented with suno ai as well (yet to try udio, but hear it’s even better), I can DM you some of my results if you’re interested. 2024-04-14T01:10:42Z Comment by wejfi A very good experiment, Ryszard. It shows where the journey is going, whether we want it or not and whether we like it or not. It's impressive but also frightening. But a lot of people (including me) also play with 'artificial' instruments. So it's probably just the next step. 2024-04-11T22:22:25Z Comment by Neno J. That's why I prefer "live gig". Yes, dinosaurs are extinct! 2024-04-11T14:21:58Z Comment by Neno J. Don't worry, go ahead and be smart without artificial intelligence. This is really not going in the right direction.! 2024-04-11T14:19:36Z Comment by Frank DANA Cool ! But i understand you sing on an AI composition ? Right ? 2024-04-11T05:04:38Z
