Butterfles with Broken Wings by Richard Grist Music published on 2021-10-01T22:47:54Z This is a song dedicated to the family of a woman who was trapped under a building in the Christchurch 2011 earthquake. Below is her story. A mother-of-two trapped inside a collapsed building after the New Zealand earthquake had to use her teeth to answer her mobile phone because she had lost her fingers, an inquest heard yesterday. Tamara Cvetanov, 42, was alive in the Canterbury Television (CTV) building in Christchurch after the earthquake in February 2011 that killed 185 and spoke to her husband Alec four times on the phone. Fireman Manu Clarkson asked Mr Cvetanov if he could get his wife to send him a text message with her exact location but he explained how she had lost her fingers, the Christchurch inquest was told.
