Chevrolet - Ricky Fitzpatrick by rickyfitzpatrick published on 2010-07-15T14:40:49Z “Chevrolet” is the nostalgic ramblings of an aging 1957 Chevrolet, personified. Fitzpatrick’s ’57 looks back with pride on a life of “full blown heads” and “dual exhaust” and being “lean and mean”. As the story unfolds, it’s almost impossible to listen to the words and not feel connected somehow. It’s hard not to identify and let the song be one about you, instead of a car. With virtually no budget, no staff, no label, no marketing plan or advertising campaign, no accompanying CD, no endorsements, no radio tour, no music video, and no star-power artist to sing it…Chevrolet is nevertheless, becoming a continental phenomenon. Today, it's driving more traffic (no pun intended) than ever to Fitzpatrick's website, and getting substantial airplay, everywhere from GA to TX to WA to NY, Australia, France, Canada and London. Comparisons are being made by fans and DJs to everyone from Bob Dylan to Marc Cohen and Billy Joel to John Prine. Genre Country/Americana Comment by "Mark Williams" great feeling, nice vocals 2014-02-13T23:31:03Z Comment by rickyfitzpatrick Remains one of my favorite songs that I've written. Don't do "Chevrolet" much these days, but I still like to dig it out from time to time. :) 2012-09-29T18:29:10Z
