Under The Pressure (The War on Drugs Cover) by Robert DeLong published on 2016-11-01T18:13:01Z Robert DeLong's Song of the Month. A note from Robert DeLong regarding this month's SOTM: "Some two years ago, as if by fate, I woke up with a strange restlessness around 6 am, and decided to take a chance on my friend's music recommendation to accompany a longwinded run through downtown Los Angeles. The first song on the War on Drugs' album Lost in the Dream, "Under the Pressure", was the perfect haunting accompaniment to my journey through the urban landscape as the sun crept up behind the skyscrapers. About a month ago I was about to go on a run looking for some music, and was reminded of the glory of this album. While listening I got the impression that the long-form structure of this song would work well in the context of some minimal tech-house instrumentation, and so this cover sort of assembled itself over the course of the afternoon."
