Rob Munday Robert Munday Cheshire Rob started getting passionate about house music from his early teens. He was initially tuning into Stu Allan's mix show at weekends where he would begin to educate his virgin ears with what i would describe as audible magic. Rob had a DJ's ethos from day one as he would live record the tunes he liked onto cassette whilst doing on the fly edits to remove the advert breaks. As his knowledge and experience of music increased, he found himself becoming naturally inquisitive about the technical side of mixing and was fascinated at how an atmosphere can be manipulated, altered and changed just by spinning plastic and tweaking a few nobs and faders. This eventually lead him to getting a pair of Technics 1210's about 15 years ago and the rest is history. In the beginning his main passion was for old skool and classic house from early 90's, however his musical taste has since matured to genres including progressive house, electro and breakbeat. Plenty of DJ's and producers have been a huge influence on Rob and you will hear a lot of their material featured on his mixes. Rob would like to take this opportunity to drop a few names and pay his respects to the following:- Sasha, John Digweed, Dave Seamen, Nick Warren, Steve Lawler, Hybrid, Trafik, U.N.K.L.E and especially Dj Faskil (Frisky Radio) who is absolutely brilliant and inspiring. Rob highly recommends his free Silly Waffles and Artist of the Week mixes which are free to download from his site www.faskil.com. Rob's Two-Pence: "I hope my mixes will be enjoyed and appreciated by all who take the time to listen to them. Each and every mix has been treated as a structured project which should take you on a journey from start to finish." "I have always been told that being a good DJ is 90% track selection and only 10% mixing capability. However i personally feel that tight, intricate mixing is the cherry on the cake so to speak and is what separates the DJ's who are in it for the passion from the money grabbing spiky haired funky house promoters."
