Notamoon- Wonderlander- RUSRS014- 2021 by R U SRS? published on 2021-10-12T21:09:22Z Very little is publicly known about Dutch producer NotAMoon, only that his music is inspired by an interweaving of the raw sounds of the asphalt jungle, and the vague futuristic tones of a city built on its ruins. The rhythms are reverberations of steel and concrete and the melodies come from somewhere else entirely. Reflections with deep roots in what was, and what is. Melancholic by nature, they long for a future that could one day exist... Or perhaps did exist? The EP written during the COVID-19 epidemic was under the circumstances of a very isolated mindset that drove a very different way of producing tracks he usually writes. The results speak highly of him and his skills while almost encompassing a whole new genre defined in itself. It represents escapism and an alternative combination of wanting to put on the streets among people and desire to embrace a bit of a different class. The EP was built around a fantasy element, to be played after the dystopia of the pandemic today, Tomorrow and for future generations to hear. All of this gives us something totally new. that's energetic, and more bright. "Dont" A huge Future Garage style number to start the EP off in style. "Don't" has it all builds up with some very haunting sounds that drop into a sea of tranquil and echoing stabs and vocals before dropping in and out back into the moody dark sounds. Unlike a lot out there at the moment and for us the headline track of the EP "That Thing" Out second track of the EP touches on many influences from Electro to UK Garage An Uplifting lift carries the track to its first drop along with the MC vocal "That Thing" will make you hungry for me and ask to "Feed Me" as much as possible when you hear it. "Dont" Rounding up this huge EP is the final track "Wonderlander" which yet again takes another twist for the release with a huge mash up of UK Garage & Bass Synths and a dashing of Psytrance Stuttering edits and haunting synths take you up to the trippy drop and the very familiar bells from many an old skool track add to the magical flavour of this one of its kind track NotAMoon lands on this planet November 15th 2021
