RyanChase Ryan Chase Music by Ryan Chase has been described as “the stuff of memory” (The Herald-Times) and “whirlwind… deftly explored contrasts of mood, from bombastic to introverted.” (The New York Times) His pieces have been performed and recorded by such artists and ensembles as Alarm Will Sound, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the American Composers Orchestra, the Chelsea Symphony, Collage New Music, Contemporaneous, Flux Quartet, Mivos Quartet, the Society for New Music, and the Texas State University Wind Symphony. Accolades for his work include an Emmy® nomination, a Charles Ives Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Fromm Commission, and multiple awards from ASCAP and BMI. He holds degrees from the Mannes College of Music and Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, studying with Keith Fitch, Claude Baker, David Dzubay, Don Freund, and Gabriela Ortiz. He presently serves as associate professor of music at Colgate University.
