Let's Learn Bhagavad Gita : Chapter 18 - Moksha Sannyasa Yoga - Shlokas 67, 68 & 69 by Sanathana Vani published on 2022-12-31T17:22:49Z Chapter 18 – śloka 70: अध्येष्यते च य इमं धर्म्यं संवादमावयोः । ज्ञानयज्ञेन तेनाहम् इष्टः स्यामिति मे मतिः ॥ adhyeṣyate ca ya imaṁ dharmyaṁ saṁvādamāvayoḥ । jñānayajñena tenāham iṣṭaḥ syāmiti me matiḥ ॥ Word by Word Meaning: adhyeṣyate – will study; ca – and; yaḥ – one who; imam – this; dharmyam – sacred; saṁvādam – dialogue; āvayoḥ – of ours; jñāna – knowledge; yajñena – by the yajña or sacrifice of; tena – by him; aham – I; iṣṭaḥ – worshipped; syām – shall be; iti – such; me – My; matiḥ – conviction; Chapter 18 – śloka 71: श्रद्धावाननसूयश्च शृणुयादपि यो नरः । सोऽपि मुक्तः शुभान् लोकान् प्राप्नुयात्पुण्यकर्मणाम् ॥ śraddhāvānanasūyaśca śṛṇuyādapi yo naraḥ । so'pi muktaḥ śubhān lokān prāpnuyātpuṇyakarmaṇām ॥ Word by Word Meaning: śraddhā-vān – full of faith or sincerity; anasūyaḥ – free from malice; ca – and; śṛṇuyāt – will hear; api – even; yaḥ – who; naraḥ – a man; saḥ – such a one; api – too; muktaḥ – liberated; śubhān – the auspicious; lokān – worlds or abodes; prāpnuyāt – shall attain to; puṇya-karmaṇām – of those of virtuous deeds; Explanation (śloka 70 & 71): The holy bhagavadgītā is a dialogue between a sincere disciple, Arjuna and his Master, Krishna. Its study is equivalent to performing jñāna yajña. Those who listen to the teachings of the bhagavadgītā, with complete sincerity and faith, too will be liberated and attain the higher realms. Meaning (śloka 70): The one who will study this sacred dialogue of ours, by him shall I be worshipped through the sacrifice of knowledge. Such is My conviction. Meaning (śloka 71): The one who will hear [this knowledge], being full of śraddhā and free from malice, such a one too shall be liberated and attain the auspicious abodes of those [who practice] virtuous deeds.
