Let's Learn Bhagavad Gita : Chapter 18 - Moksha Sannyasa Yoga - Shlokas 72 & 73 by Sanathana Vani published on 2022-12-31T17:28:05Z Chapter 18 – śloka 72: कच्चिदेतच्छ्रुतं पार्थ त्वयैकाग्रेण चेतसा । कच्चिदज्ञानसम्मोहः प्रणष्टस्ते धनञ्जय ॥ kaccidetacchrutaṁ pārtha tvayaikāgreṇa cetasā । kaccidajñānasammohaḥ praṇaṣṭaste dhanañjaya ॥ Word by Word Meaning: kaccit – whether; etat – this; śrutam – has been heard; pārtha – O Arjuna, the son of Prtha; tvayā – by you; eka-agreṇa – by one-pointed or concentrated; cetasā – by mind; kaccit – whether; ajñāna – ignorance; sammohaḥ – delusion of; praṇaṣṭaḥ – has been destroyed; te – your; dhanañjaya – O Arjuna, the conqueror of wealth; Chapter 18 – śloka 73: अर्जुन उवाच । नष्टो मोहः स्मृतिर्लब्धा त्वत्प्रसादान्मयाच्युत । स्थितोऽस्मि गतसन्देहः करिष्ये वचनं तव ॥ arjuna uvāca । naṣṭo mohaḥ smṛtirlabdhā tvatprasādānmayācyuta । sthito'smi gatasandehaḥ kariṣye vacanaṁ tava ॥ Word by Word Meaning: arjunaḥ – Arjuna; uvāca – said; naṣṭaḥ – dispelled; mohaḥ – delusion; smṛtiḥ – memory or knowledge; labdhā – gained; tvat – Your; prasādāt – by grace; mayā – by me; acyuta – O Krishna, the infallible one; sthitaḥ – firm; asmi – I am; gata – gone or removed; sandehaḥ – doubts; kariṣye – I shall do or act; vacanam – words or instructions; tava – Your; Explanation (śloka 72 & 73): Having focused all his attention on Krishna’s divine discourse, Arjuna is released from his delusion of ignorance. His doubts thus cleared by realising the Supreme Truth, Arjuna is ready to follow the Lord’s command and perform his prescribed duty as a kṣatriya. Meaning (śloka 72): Has this been heard by you, O son of Prtha (Arjuna), with a concentrated mind? Has your delusion of ignorance been destroyed, O Dhananjaya (Arjuna)? Meaning (śloka 73): Arjuna said: My delusion has been dispelled and I have gained my memory through Your grace, O infallible one (Krishna). I am [now] firm, with all doubts removed.
