Let's Learn Bhagavad Gita : Chapter 18 - Moksha Sannyasa Yoga - Shlokas 76, 77 & 78 by Sanathana Vani published on 2022-12-31T17:35:57Z Chapter 18 – śloka 76: राजन्संस्मृत्य संस्मृत्य संवादमिममद्भुतम् । केशवार्जुनयोः पुण्यं हृष्यामि च मुहुर्मुहुः ॥ rājansaṁsmṛtya saṁsmṛtya saṁvādamimamadbhutam । keśavārjunayoḥ puṇyaṁ hṛṣyāmi ca muhurmuhuḥ ॥ Word by Word Meaning: rājan – O King (Dhrtarashtra); saṁsmṛtya saṁsmṛtya – as I remember and remember; saṁvādam – dialogue of; imam – this; adbhutam – wonderful; keśava – Krishna, the killer of demon Keshi; arjunayoḥ – and Arjuna; puṇyam – sacred or virtuous; hṛṣyāmi – I rejoice; ca – and; muhuḥ muhuḥ – again and again; Chapter 18 – śloka 77: तच्च संस्मृत्य संस्मृत्य रूपमत्यद्भुतं हरेः । विस्मयो मे महान् राजन् हृष्यामि च पुनः पुनः ॥ tacca saṁsmṛtya saṁsmṛtya rūpamatyadbhutaṁ hareḥ । vismayo me mahān rājan hṛṣyāmi ca punaḥ punaḥ ॥ Word by Word Meaning: tat – that; ca – and; saṁsmṛtya saṁsmṛtya – as I remember again and again; rūpam – Divine or Cosmic Form; ati – most; adbhutam – wonderful; hareḥ – of Hari or Krishna; vismayaḥ – wonder; me – my; mahān – great; rājan – O King; hṛṣyāmi – I am filled with joy; ca – and; punaḥ punaḥ – over and over again; Chapter 18 – śloka 78: यत्र योगेश्वरः कृष्णो यत्र पार्थो धनुर्धरः । तत्र श्रीर्विजयो भूतिः ध्रुवा नीतिर्मतिर्मम ॥ yatra yogeśvaraḥ kṛṣṇo yatra pārtho dhanurdharaḥ । tatra śrīrvijayo bhūtiḥ dhruvā nītirmatirmama ॥ Word by Word Meaning: yatra – wherever; yoga-īśvaraḥ – the Lord of yoga; kṛṣṇaḥ – Krishna; yatra – wherever; pārthaḥ – Arjuna, the son of Prtha; dhanuḥ-dharaḥ – the expert wielder of the bow; tatra – there; śrīḥ – opulence; vijayaḥ – victory; bhūtiḥ – prosperity; dhruvā – firm or unfailing; nītiḥ – righteousness or morality; matiḥ – opinion; mama – my; Explanation (śloka 76, 77 & 78): In conclusion, the bhagavadgītā proclaims that only when there is a Self-Realised teacher like Krishna and a sincere and pure disciple like Arjuna, learning from Him, will there be victory, prosperity and goodness. Indeed, when all human endeavour is aligned with the Divine principle, the outcome will be unending bliss. Meaning (śloka 76): O King (Dhrtarashtra), as I repeatedly remember this wonderful and sacred dialogue between Keshava (Krishna) and Arjuna, I rejoice again and again. Meaning (śloka 77): And as I remember again and again that most wonderful Cosmic Form of Hari (Krishna), great is my wonder, O King; I am filled with joy over and over again. Meaning (śloka 78): Wherever there is Krishna, the Lord of yoga, and wherever there is the son of Prtha (Arjuna), the expert wielder of the bow, there will be unfailing opulence, victory, prosperity and righteousness; this is my opinion.
