Sasha Zhuravlev Sasha Zhuravlev Porto Sasha (Aleksandr)Zhuravlev Was born on July 20, 1970 in Sankt-Petersburg, Russia Musician, composer, author of more than 500 music pieces for the theatre, movies and TV-shows, awardee of international musical and theatre festivals. Graduated from The Rachmaninoff Music School (saxophone) and Musorgsky music college (saxophone, class of Gennady Golstein; piano, class of Elena Corol-Boroduk) in Sankt-Petersburg. Attended the lectures of professor Ilya Musin on orchestra conducting in Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg state conservatory. Since 2014 Sasha attends the lessons of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia on indian classical music at Rotterdam Conservatoire - Codarts. Sasha has a unique and versatile artistic biography. In the end of 80-s he was the member of several famous Russian rock bands. Played saxophone at the Central Navy Band of Russia during his military service and at symphonic and cinematographic orchestras of St.Petersburg. Since 90-s he works as a composer, improvising musician, sound-designer. Collaborates with ballet stars Diana Vishneva, Farukh Ruzimatov, Yulia Mahalina at The Mariynsky theatre (Kirov Ballet). Also composes for Komissarzhevskay drama theatre, Baltiyskiy Dom, Bolshoy Puppet theatre, Theatre of St.Petersburg's Russian State Institute of Performing Arts, Mosfilm, Lenfilm, SonyPictures, Amedia and many other theaters, film and TV studios. Since 2013 lives in Porto, Portugal.
